Last Sunday (26), the date on which National Boxing Day was celebrated, Bia Ferreira entered the history of the noble Brazilian art. The Bahian boxer defeated Colombian Angie Valdez in New Delhi, India, and won the Women's World Boxing Championship title in the under-60 kg category for the second time.
Bia Ferreira started the fight dominating the Colombian, an opponent she had already defeated in an International Boxing Grand Prix last year. In the second round, the Brazilian was scared, but quickly recovered and took control of the duel again. In the third and final round, the Bahian was strategic and, without taking many risks, managed the result to win the unanimous decision of the judges and the title.

With the achievement, Bia Ferreira became the Brazilian boxer with the most world titles in history. Furthermore, the Bahian is also the country's first representative to win three medals in the competition, as she 'hit the beam' in 2022 and took silver after losing to the North American Rashida Ellis.
In addition to the record of achievements, Bia Ferreira also achieved the incredible mark of 36 podiums and 31 gold medals in 37 international championships. The Bahian also has in her collection an Olympic silver medal won at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
