This Friday (04), in Reno (USA), the 115th edition of Bellator takes place, the second largest MMA organization today and the UFC's main competitor. The event will feature a heavyweight title fight between Vitaly Minakov and Cheick Kongo as the main fight. On Thursday night (03), during the official weigh-in, Kongo and Minakov confirmed the fight by staying within the 120 kg allowed for the category. Two other athletes, however, ended up leaving the card.
The first of them lost the duel against the scale. Participating in the middleweight GP, Jeremy Kimball weighed over 84 kg at the weigh-in, even exceeding the pound limit granted in the case of a fight not valid for the title. As a result, his fight against Dan Cramer was cancelled. The organization did not disclose whether the athlete will be cut from the tournament. In addition to Kimball, the welterweight Andrei Koreshkov he also left his fight at night, but the cause was not related to the scale. Koreshkov was unable to recover from a bad bout of flu and his duel against Sam Oropeza will be postponed until a future edition of Bellator.
