For very little, Petr yan e Merab Dvalishvili did not start the fight at the official weigh-in UFC Las Vegas. During the face-off, the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) avoided looking at his rival for the first few seconds, however, soon after, he turned around and gave the Georgian a shove. The two athletes exchanged insults and almost came to blows.

During the event week, Merab made it clear that the confrontation against Yan was 'something personal', recalling the historic conflict between Russia and Georgia and citing his rival's invasion of Ukraine.. The Georgian also praised the former champion's skills, but stated that he does not consider his rival a 'humble person' and accused him of not being a 'good person'.
On the night of next Saturday (11), Yan and Merab will go up to the Octagon for the (real) reckoning between the two athletes. The two fighters will be in the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas and the winner will be very close to a title fight in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg). The show will be held at The Theater at Virgin Hotels, in Las Vegas (USA).
