The UFC's first visit to the city of Albuquerque, in the North American state of New Mexico, will feature an important fight for the flyweight category. John Dodson and John Moraga, former challengers for the belt, will face off and hold the long-awaited rematch on June 7th.
Dodson, currently number 1 in the UFC rankings, and Moraga, fourth, faced each other in 2010, at the Nemesis Fighting event with the former winning the judges' decision. Years later, both had the chance to challenge the UFC flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson. In January 2013, Dodson was defeated by the judges' decision, while Moraga, six months later, was submitted by the champion.
They were the fighters' only defeats within the UFC. Dodson is coming off a win over Darrell Montague in October, while Moraga beat Dustin Ortiz in January.
Another fight confirmed for the night is between bantamweights Sergio Pettis and Yaotzin Meza. Pettis, younger brother of lightweight champion Anthony, will try to recover from the loss he suffered to Alex Caceres in January; Meza is coming off a defeat to Chico Camus in the same event.
The UFC in Albuquerque will have as its main fight the fight between lightweight Benson Henderson, former champion of the category, and the promising Rustam Khabilov.
