Shogun and Hendo make weight and confirm their long-awaited rematch; Ronny Markes fails

The rematch between Mauricio Shogun e Dan Henderson is officially confirmed. At the official weigh-in before UFC Fight Night 38, an event that takes place next Sunday (23), in Natal, the fighters had no difficulty making weight and confirming the fight. Hendo scored 91,7 kg, more than a kilo below the division limit. Shogun weighed 93 kg, the maximum weight in the division.

During the traditional face-off, the two kept their distance and greeted each other cordially, just as had happened in the first duel, in 2011.

If the climate between Hendo and Shogun was mild, Leo Santos and Norman Parke exchange barbs before the fight. In the TUF winners' duel, the Irishman put his face to the Brazilian and started the provocations. The Nova União athlete didn't let it go and responded until they were contained.

Among the other athletes on the card, only Ronny Markes failed to make weight. The potiguar, who faces his compatriot Thiago Marreta, weighed 86,2 kg, more than two kilos above the middleweight division limit of 84 kg.
