Yushin Okami will begin a new chapter of his long career on March 29th. After seven years in the UFC, where he competed for the middleweight belt against Anderson Silva, the Japanese will begin his career in the World Series of Fighting, an organization that is growing more and more within the world of MMA.

Precisely for this reason, Okami was motivated for the new challenge. In an interview with the North American website “Sherdog”, “Thunder”, as he is known, he said that he did not regret his dismissal from the UFC for long. “When my manager told me I was fired from the UFC, I don't remember my reaction. I think I was surprised at first. But I always prepare for the worst when I lose, so I recovered over time. Fortunately, I received offers from several organizations as soon as my resignation was announced”, commented the fighter, who left the UFC after losing to the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare.

Okami stated that he intends to make history within the WSOF. “When WSOF made me an offer, I was very happy. It's a new organization, so history will be made here and now, and I intend to be a part of it. Here, there are several powerful middleweight fighters, and I know this will be a big challenge for me,” he said.

In his first challenge in the new organization, Okami will face young Bulgarian Svetlozar Savov, who will also make his WSOF debut. “Svetlozar Savov has a lot of skill, he is young and has an aggressive style. But my skills are more evolved and I will pressure you at all times. I am sure this will bring me victory,” he predicted.
