Anthony Pettis, current UFC lightweight champion, is recovering from surgery and still doesn't have a firm date for his return to the Octagon. However, the fighter already imagines what his next fight will be like, against Gilbert Melendez, with whom he will act as coach in a new season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Known for his aggression and knockouts, Pettis predicts that the fight with Melendez will live up to his reputation. “I'm not going to take you down. I'll probably knock him out. It will be a good fight. I'm looking forward to coaching The Ultimate Fighter. It should be a fun show, and, as I'm not a wrestler, I'm going for the knockout”, said the fighter, in a question and answer session with fans on the eve of UFC 171, last weekend.

However, even thinking about the fight with Melendez, Pettis revealed which opponent he would like to face next. “To be honest, the guy I really want to fight right now is Nate diaz. I think the fans want to see this fight, so Nate diaz It's on my radar for sure. I think Diaz is a good fighter. He could be one of my next opponents, but he's the one who talks the most. So I want to resolve this,” he said.
