Always irreverent, Nick Diaz continues to be involved in controversies even though he is temporarily away from MMA. This weekend, the former champion of the now defunct Strikeforce, who declared himself retired shortly after his defeat to Georges St Pierre in March last year, he stated that he is ready to return to the octagon and teased the new welterweight champion John hendricks.

“Maybe the UFC wants me to face John hendricks! You're going to get a beating, brother, worse than today! You got beat up for four rounds (by Lawler). I saw your amateur style. I'm ready to fight. I'm ready to fight the right fight. I'm going to accept a fight this year, I haven't spoken much with Dana (White), but he knows what my thoughts are, he knows what I want. Earlier, I was chatting backstage. And that. I need a title fight, a real fight. Let's give the fans what they want to see. I think that's why I'm here”, said Diaz, in an interview with the Canadian channel “Sportsnet”.

Asked if he would consider returning to fight another title candidate, and not the champion, Nick did not hesitate and was emphatic in stating that he is only interested in a title fight. “No, unless there is… No. No! I want to fight for the title, but I want to see who will fight for the title. You can justify a title fight, versus me doing the same on my side for a title fight. Look what I have. The UFC makes more money, fans see what they want to see. You want to see someone get submitted or knocked out, you want to see a real fight, you want to see drama queens do drama, motherfuckers being real”, he said.

At 30, Nick Diaz He has a record of 26 wins, nine losses and one unsuccessful fight. In 2010, after two troubled stints in Ultimate, Diaz beat Marius Žaromskis and won the inaugural Strikeforce welterweight category belt – the organization he has been part of since the first event. After three successful title defenses, Nick returned to the UFC to challenge Georges St Pierre, but the fight did not take place due to the Californian's multiple absences from official UFC 137 commitments. At the event, held in October 2011, Diaz faced BJ Penn and achieved the last victory of his career. After another scheduled and postponed confrontation against GSP, Diaz finally faced the Canadian in March 2013, but ended up defeated by his rival in a unanimous decision.
