With the victory over Jimi Manuwa at UFC Fight Night 37, last Saturday (08), Alexander Gustafson guaranteed the position of next challenger for the light heavyweight belt, mainly a rematch against Jon Jones if he wins Glover Teixeira on April 26th. The definition of the future of the category, however, has the champion as its opponent. Through your Twitter, Jones questioned the path of the title challengers and proposed a challenge between Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier.

“Why not give the winner of Alexander Gustafson e Daniel Cormier the winner of Glover and me? You can call me whatever you want, but I can't be the only person who thinks it makes perfect sense. Why not give it to the fighters tops competitions that they haven't had yet to keep me even more challenged? Either way, I would fight the strongest one still standing”, Jones published in several messages on the microblogging network.

PUBLICITY:

After being heavily questioned by fans for his statements, the champion refuted accusations that he was afraid of facing title contenders. “Listen (sic) carefully, I'm not running. I see Cormier congratulating Gustafsson and making comments about waiting his turn (for his title shot). I wonder if they are afraid to fight each other. People who don't like to think are quick to say I'm scared. Think about it, I only want the 'badder' of the two,” he concluded.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
