Greg Jackson, head coach of Jon Jones, believes that his fighter will need to earn the respect of Glover Teixeira to emerge victorious in the main fight of UFC 172, which will take place on April 26, in Baltimore, United States.

The Brazilian, who is coming off five dominant UFC victories, was given the chance to challenge the organization's light heavyweight champion. For Jackson, Teixeira is efficient in his game because he always aims to attack – so, to neutralize him, it is necessary to make the Brazilian respect his opponent to reduce his momentum.

“Glover is a very, very powerful opponent. He's smart, he fights well and he dominates people, so we need to make sure he doesn't surpass us in this regard. This is very important. I think Jon needs to earn his respect so that Glover can't get past him”, said the coach, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”. “You need to make sure you don’t get run over, and there are several ways to do that, which I can’t talk about at the moment. But you have to earn their respect. You can’t just walk into his punches, because Glover hits really hard,” he concluded.
