The UFC announced another fight for event number 173, which will be held on May 24th, in Las Vegas, in the United States. The champion of The Ultimate Fighter 13, Tony Ferguson, will face the Japanese Katsunori Kikuno, in a fight valid for the lightweight category (up to 70 kg).
Ferguson, 30 years old, has a record of 14 wins and three losses in professional MMA, being 4-1 in the UFC. In his last fight, he submitted Mike Rio at the beginning of the first round. His only defeat in the organization was in May 2012, when he lost to Michael Johnson in the judges' decision.
Kikuno, in turn, will have his second fight in the UFC. The 32-year-old Japanese beat Quinn Mulhern in his debut, in Singapore, with a unanimous decision from the judges. Despite being new to the UFC, Kikuno is a veteran of Japanese MMA, having played in events such as Deep and DREAM. He has already faced names like Gesias Cavalcante, André Dida and Eddie Alvarez.
The main fight of UFC 173 will be a middleweight title fight between the champion, Chris Weidman, and Lyoto Machida. Another Brazilian is already confirmed at the event: Francisco Massaranduba faces the TUF 15 champion, Michael chiesa.
