The exchange of Brazilians in the middleweight belt dispute, after the withdrawal of Vitor belfort and its replacement by Lyoto Machida, took a lot of people by surprise this Friday (28). Those who were not so surprised by what happened, especially with regard to Machida's entry into the fight, were the champion Chris Weidman. According to the North American, the “Dragon” has always been under his constant observation.

“Machida is a very dangerous fighter, and he knows what to do to be champion. He (Lyoto) has always been on my radar, since his arrival at middleweight. I'm looking forward to defending my belt against him in May”, said the champion, in an interview with the North American channel “FOX Sports”.

Voted “Fighter of the Year 2013”, Weidman beat Anderson Silva to win the middleweight title in July last year and beat Spider again in the rematch held in December.
