Lyoto Machida he has no problem doing one more fight before being able to challenge for the UFC middleweight belt. The Brazilian, who comes from a recent victory over Gegard Mousasi in Jaraguá do Sul, it took third place in the category's official ranking, just behind Anderson Silva, Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman.

As Belfort and Weidman will face each other for the title in May, and Anderson is out of action due to injury, Machida is, in theory, the next in line to be able to challenge for the belt. However, the former light heavyweight champion does not want to remain inactive for too long, and therefore left open the possibility of facing Ronaldo Jacare, fourth in the ranking.

“I only have two fights at middleweight, and Jacaré has more, but I could fight him. If people want it, I would fight him. I have no problem with that. I don’t want to wait too long, so I can have one more fight before fighting for the title”, said Machida, in an interview with the North American channel “FOX Sports”.

Furthermore, the fighter said that he has practically recovered from his foot injury, acquired during the fight with Mousasi. “My foot is almost 100% now. Everything is going well,” he detailed.

Regarding the next fight that will be worth the middleweight title, Machida said that both fighters have a chance. “I think that in the first two rounds of the fight Vitor has a great chance. He’s very fast, faster than Weidman, he’s a very explosive guy, but after that, I think Weidman has more chances”, he assessed.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
