Highlight at UFC Rio, Durinho accuses Belal Muhammad of refusing fight and complains about change in ranking

apparently, Gilbert Durinho could have another opponent in the UFC 283, in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian, who measures forces against Neil Magny, revealed that he was frustrated with the supposed refusal to Belal Muhammad | per fight on the card and also says he is surprised by the North American assuming his position in the welterweight rankings (up to 77kg.).

“I was frustrated with that too, I'm over it, I'm focused on Neil Magny. But how Belal Muhammad | wins Sean brady, I have nothing to do with this and he passes me in the classification? Okay, he got some wins, but he never beat me, (so) why did (he) take my place? He refused the fight when they offered him to fight here in Rio”, said Durinho in an interview on 'half day'.

Still regarding the refusal, Gilbert also argues that Belal should not be in his place, considering that they have never faced each other in Ultimate.

“We all know why (he turned it down) because he got my place. If he was still number five, I would say yes. That's something I don't like. It's out of my control, but this was a little frustrating. How the hell did this guy beat me in qualifying? He didn’t beat me and he doesn’t want to fight me, why?”, concluded the fighter.

Durinho currently occupies fifth place in the welterweight rankings (up to 77,1kg) and dreams of a new chance at the title, if he gets past Magny. The Brazilian, however, is coming off a defeat against Khamzat Shimaev, in March this year. He has 20 positive results and five negative results in his career.
