In a big moment in Ultimate, the North American, Damon Jackson, 34 years old, has won four consecutive victories in the featherweight category (up to 65,7kg). Scheduled to face the veteran Dan Ige, at the 'UFC Las Vegas 67’, Jackson is excited to take another step up the rankings and promises to deliver the ‘fight of the year’ next Saturday.

“I actually texted him and said I didn’t want to say anything bad, but I would love to fight him and I would have nothing but respect. I'm on a good run and I definitely deserve a chance at the top 15 (…) he's a killer for sure, he hunts for the head and throws heavy punches, but I don't think he does that against me because he knows I'm going to take him down. It's a tough fight, but I'm ready to go. Man, it's going to be crazy and that's why I'm telling people this fight could have been a main event. It’s going to be ‘the fight of the year’. I want to go out there and get a submission, he wants to come back and make people forget his losing streak,” Damon told 'B.J. Penn.with'.

Dan Ige has accumulated three defeats, against ranked athletes in the division, in his last fights. Aware of the experience that his rival carries, Jackson maintains respect, but believes he can take advantage of his opponent's bad phase.

“I'm not going to sit here and say he's down or out of the question. Josh Emmett will fight for the title now,’Korean zombie’ has already fought twice for the title and Movsar Evloev will fight for the belt soon, these guys are tough as hell. I don't hold that experience against him. But I think there are things I can take advantage of in this moment when he passes, despite him being a killer”, concluded the fighter.
