Away from professional competitions for almost a year, Diego Sanchez He has a date and opponent to return to action. On Tuesday afternoon (10), Bare Knuckle FC confirmed the 41-year-old veteran's debut with the organization. The winner of the first edition of TUF in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg) faces the former world champion in the 'noble art' (WBA), Austin Trout, on February 17, in the city of Albuquerque (USA).
The confrontation between the athletes marks the co-main fight of the 'Knuckle Mania 3'. The fight will be held in the welterweight category.

Back in action, Sanchez will make his second appearance since his dismissal from the UFC, which took place in 2021. After being dismissed from the organization, the veteran came to face Kevin Lee by Eagle FC, a company managed by Khabib Nurmagomedov. In the clash, Diego ended up defeated by the judges' decision.
Satisfied with resuming his career, the American did not hide his excitement to debut in 'bare-knuckle boxing'. After the official announcement, the fighter commented on the company's publication.
“I’ve been waiting for this for a long time,” he wrote, using his profile on Instagram.
Like Sanchez, Austin Trout will also make his debut with Bare Knuckle FC. At 37 years old, the fighter, who already wore the world middleweight belt for WBA (World Boxing Association) made his last appearance in December, when he beat Jose Charles by the judges' decision.
