In a UFC middleweight fight (up to 83,9 kg), Brad Tavares will face Gregory Rodrigues on January 21st. A UFC veteran, the North American who will fight in Brazil for the first time, said he is used to performing in his opponents' territory and assured that Rio de Janeiro will be no different.
“As far as coming into his home country and fighting him in his homeland, that’s nothing new to me. Previously in my career, I went on a streak where I fought everyone in their hometown. I went to Japan and fought Riki Fukuda. I went to England and fought Tom Watson. I went to Florida and fought Yoel romero, he's from Cuba, but this is his new hometown. He has his entire fan base there. So it's not new to me. I've done this before. This isn’t the first time, and I’m sure it won’t be the last,” Tavares told 'MMA Junkie Radio'.

After being defeated in his last confrontation for Dricus Du Plessis, UFC 276, Brad knew the risks when he agreed to face Gregory. When talking about the Brazilian, the North American highlighted the dangerous style of 'Robocop' and highlighted that a lack of care can generate consequences when facing him.
“I know one thing about him: he's a tough guy, and you see that in his fights. He gets hurt or shakes, whatever, and people think they beat him. They think they have the fight won, and no – he turns off their lights. He is a super dangerous guy, a super tough guy”, concluded the athlete.
In the UFC since 2011, Brad is known for having a good grappling fight and taking most of his fights to the judges' decision. Before his last defeat, the North American had won two consecutive victories, over Omari Akhmedov and Antônio Carlos Junior, the 'Shoe Face'. His record is 19 wins and seven losses.
