Featured in UFC 283, which marks the return of Ultimate to Brazil, Jessica Stacker will face a new challenge at flyweight. Ranked in the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg) and in the up to 56,7kg division, the Paraná native spoke exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS about the reality of representing two categories in the company. On January 21, the former champion will face off against Lauren Murphy.
“It's great to reach a level in your career where you're a 'wild card'. You can fight in any category, and it will do (the job) well. I'm very happy to be part of all this, to be 'floating' (between two divisions)”, stated Bate-Estaca.

Former strawweight champion and former flyweight title challenger, Jéssica, however, ponders the new reality. The fighter revealed the negative and positive points of always being willing to alternate the groups in which she performs.
“My intention is to return to 52,1kg, to stay in that category. It's very bad for you to be 'floating', because you are never well ranked within the divisions. As you are always fighting in one of the two, the UFC doesn't know where to place you in the rankings. I believe that being a 'wild card' within the UFC is good, always being active is good. Sometimes, there is no fight at strawweight and, instead of waiting a while, I ask for a fight at flyweight,” he concluded.
On January 21st, Bate-Estaca will make her debut in the 2023 season. The fighter is looking to build on her good momentum and record her third straight win in the company.
