An injury prevented Gleison Tibau from playing in his home state at UFC Fight Night 39, which takes place in the capital Natal on March 23rd. The information was released by Twitter UFC official this Wednesday (19). To replace Tibau, the organization announced the addition of Brazilian Michel “Trator” Prazes to the card, who will now face Russian Mairbek Taisumov at the event.
The last time Gleison played at home in an MMA fight was in 2007, when he beat Antonio Moreno in the Nordeste Combat Championship. Since then, there have been 19 fights, all of them for the UFC, with a record of 12 wins and seven losses. Furthermore, before the NCC in 2007, Tibau had already had two other fights for Ultimate, totaling 21 fights already held in the organization – numbers that place him as the Brazilian who has performed the most in the most famous octagon on the planet.
UFC Fight Night 39 takes place on March 23, in Natal (RN). In the main fight of the night, the former light heavyweight champion Mauritius Shogun has his rematch against the veteran Dan Henderson, former champion of the extinct PRIDE and Strikeforce, who already defeated the Brazilian in his UFC debut – in November 2011. In the co-main fight of the night, the winner of TUF Brasil 1 Cezar Mutant faces the American CB Dollaway.
