Even though he won the main fight of UFC Fight Night 36, in Jaraguá do Sul, last Saturday (15), Lyoto Machida received the longest medical suspension of all 24 fighters who participated in the event.
The Brazilian, who left the fight with a swollen left foot, must remain away from activities for 180 days, unless he presents a satisfactory x-ray examination of the location. Despite the swelling, initial tests carried out by the fighter ruled out a fracture in his foot.
Gegard Mousasi, defeated by Machida in the judges' decision, must spend 30 days without fighting, in addition to 21 without having physical contact. Ronaldo Jacare and Francis Carmont, who had the second most important fight of the night, received equal suspensions: 14 days without fighting and seven days without physical contact.
