His opponent will be newcomer to the organization Patrick Cummins, who, like Cormier, has a successful wrestling resume, winning the coveted title of all american on two occasions. UFC president, Dana White, stated, in an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, the reasons that make this fight attractive. “What’s interesting about this kid is that he was a training partner with Daniel Cormier. He claims he made Cormier cry when they trained together.”

Thus, Cormier will finally make his debut in the light heavyweight category. Your original opponent, Rashad evans, had to withdraw from the fight with a leg injury.
