Candidate for a future middleweight title fight, Dricus Du Plessis cites 'ideal rival' to beat the Brazilian

Highlight of the middleweights (up to 83,9kg.), Dricus Du Plessis controversial when analyzing the future of the category's throne. Top 10 in the division, the fighter praised the champion Alex Poatán, but made public his opinion that the Brazilian could be surpassed by a specific challenger. In an interview with 'The MMA Hour', the South African representative explained.

“Alex is a big guy. I saw him on Saturday (UFC 282). It's big for the category and hits like a truck. He kicks very hard and has very good striking”, praise Plessis, at first.

After the initial analysis, Dricus, however, indicated that Poatan already has an opponent with the capacity to overcome him. According to the category's prospectus, the Brazilian could lose the title against his rival.

“When it comes to MMA as a whole, (Robert) Whittaker has the style to beat Poatan,” he concluded.
