The UFC 170 card, which will be held on February 22, may undergo last-minute changes. Raphael Assunção, who was scheduled to face Francisco Rivera in the preliminary fights of the event, will need to find a new opponent, as the American reportedly broke his hand during training. The information, which has not yet been officially confirmed by the UFC, was released by the Brazilian fighter himself.
"Hey guys! My supposed opponent Francisco Rivera is out of action due to a broken hand. Who would you like me to fight?” asked Assunção, via his Twitter account.
Assunção has had five consecutive victories in the UFC since deciding to move down to the bantamweight category (up to 61 kg). In his last fight, against TJ Dillashaw, was named winner in the judges' decision. Currently, he is third in the category ranking, which has another Brazilian, Renan Barao, like the champion.
