Dustin poirier gave his opinion on a possible rematch against his Michael chandler. After 'war' in UFC 281, held in November this year, former UFC interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) states that there is no point in a new meeting against his compatriot, despite the rivalry that has emerged. He defeated his opponent with a submission in the third round.
“I don't think there's any point in talking about a possible rematch now, I beat Chandler. But, of course, you can't say 'never' in MMA. We don't know what's next for Chandler, we don't know if he'll go on a winning streak and get to the point where our rematch can happen. But, at this moment, a rematch with him is not what I need, because I already beat him”, said Poirier in an interview with 'Fansided'.

The story between Poirier and Chandler began even before the fight in the octagon. This is because, in the VIP area of an event held by the UFC, the two fighters had already argued in the audience. Later, Dustin beat his rival with a submission in the third round and the atmosphere remained heated, with provocation, even after Bruce Buffer announced his victory.
Number two in the lightweight rankings, Dustin comes from four defeats in his last six fights and has only been defeated in title fights, against Charles of the Bronx e Khabib Nurmagomedov. The 'Diamante' has a record of 29 triumphs and seven setbacks as a sports professional.
