UFC president Dana White is certain that Anderson Silva will try to regain the organization's middleweight belt, lost last year to Chris Weidman.
In a preparatory press conference for UFC 169, which takes place this Saturday (February 1st), White indicated that he was not satisfied with the outcome of the second fight between Weidman and Anderson, which ended with a shocking fracture in the Brazilian's leg.
“Chris won the fight, but no one can deny that we were deprived of seeing the end of that fight. It was a bizarre accident that deprived us of seeing a conclusion,” said White, adding that such a situation motivates Anderson even more to defeat his tormentor. “Guys like him, once they lose the title, they want it back. I can guarantee he wants that belt back.”
Finally, White stated that, despite the impressive images of what happened, the Brazilian's injury was not the most serious. “He will improve and he will return. The bone will become even stronger. If you tear a ligament in your knee, you're out for a year and three months. He broke a bone, so he’ll be fine,” he assessed.
