“I think it would be a great fight. It's one I've considered before. She is a very versatile fighter with a complete package. I hope it can happen whenever the UFC sees fit,” said Zhang.
Valentina Shevchenko has been absolutely dominating the flyweight division since December 2018, when she beat Joanna Jędrzejczyk in a unanimous decision. Since then, the Kyrgyzstani has defended her title on seven occasions and is consolidating herself as one of the greatest athletes in the history of women's MMA.
After reigning in the strawweight division between 2019 and 2021, Zhang regained the belt in the UFC 281, which took place on November 12th, at the end of the North American Carla esparza, in the second round. The Chinese fighter has a record of 23 triumphs and three setbacks as a professional in the sport.
