UFC fighter reveals interest in participating in the reality show 'A Fazenda'

For several MMA fighters, especially those looking to appear on the world stage and try their chance in the UFC, participating in the The Ultimate Fighter It's a reality show dream. On the other hand, for Brazilian Cristiano Marcello, MMA veteran and already on the roster of the main MMA organization on the planet, another reality show arouses interest: “A Fazenda”, shown on Brazilian TV by Rede Record. In an interview with the website “R7”, Cristiano stated that he wants to be part of the next edition of the program.

“Yes, I want to, and I am well trained (laughs). I think I could represent MMA very well. It would be perfect for my career, and, at my age, being away from the UFC for a few months wouldn't hurt me at all,” said the lightweight. At 36 years old, Cristiano Marcello has a vast history in MMA, with stints in PRIDE, Meca and, of course, UFC events.

The Rio native was a member of the cast of TUF 15, the only edition of the Ultimate reality show shown live on TV in the United States, and believes that experience in the format can help him on the “Fazenda”. "You're welcome? There (on TUF), I lived with 16 scoundrels for 17 weeks, sleeping on the enemy's side to fight him later. And without a woman around (laughs). I want to show this facet of a professional fighter. I've been married for eight years, I have two children, I have a gym... But, of course, looking doesn't take away anything. The atmosphere becomes lighter (laughs)”, he concluded.

Before thinking about the endurance tests or the challenges he will be subjected to alongside the other famous pedestrians on the “Fazenda”, Cristiano Marcello has another commitment in the Octagon ahead of him. On February 15, in Jaraguá do Sul (SC), Cristiano faces Joe Proctor at UFC Fight Night 36. In the main fight of the event, the former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida faces the Armenian-Dutch Gegard Mousasi, in a fight valid for the middleweight division.
