Bellator announces fight between Lima and Hawn for the belt for April 18

Bellator announced that the fight between Douglas lima and Rick Hawn, valid for the organization's welterweight belt, will take place on April 18, in the city of Council Bluffs, in the US state of Iowa.

The two fighters will face each other to decide who will be the new champion of the category, as the former belt holder, Ben Askren, has left Bellator. This will be the second opportunity for the Brazilian to win the title, since, in 2012, after winning the previous year's tournament, he was defeated in the dispute against Askren by the judges' decision.

Hawn hasn't known what it's like to lose since moving up to welterweight five fights ago. His last setback was against Michael chandler, when he tried to win the lightweight belt at Bellator 85, on January 17, 2013.

“The fight with Hawn will be very explosive and I think everyone knows that. I can't even describe how excited I am to compete for the title. I will take this belt home and I will keep it for a long time”, said the Brazilian, who, like Vitor belfort, also has the nickname “Phenomenon”.
