Bellator announced, this Monday (20), the marriage of the fights that will make up the light heavyweight tournament of its tenth season. The highlight is the participation of Quinton Rampage Jackson and Muhammad “King mo” Lawal.
Rampage, former UFC champion, will face the former Bellator light heavyweight title holder, Congolese Christian M’Pumbu. The American has already had one fight in the organization, when he beat Joey Beltran by technical knockout in the organization.
In the other semi-final, Lawal, former Strikeforce champion, will face Russian Mikhail Zayats, who is coming off a victory over ex-UFC Aaron Rosa. If they win, Rampage e King mo they will finally meet in combat, as both are declared long-time enemies.
The semifinals of the tournament will take place on February 28, in the city of Uncasville, in the US state of Connecticut.
“That’s what Bellator is all about. I've never felt better and now I'm going after the belt. Tournaments are the hallmark of Bellator, and if that's what it takes to win the belt, that's what I'll do. M’Pumbu will be the first, and when I finish him, it will be King mo or Zayats.
