Sean O'Malley proposes interim UFC bantamweight belt and challenges former rival

With champion Aljamain Sterling out of action in the first half of 2023, likely challenger proposes alternative

Favorite to be a challenger for the Ultimate bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg), Sean O'Malley Don't want to wait for the champion aljamain sterling. With the information that the title holder does not intend to defend the throne before the second half of 2023, 'Sugar' proposed an alternative for the UFC.

“He (Sterling) wants to wait eight months to come back. I understand that, I really do. The one speaking now is the number one challenger, Sean O'Malley. I'm ready to fight in March. Next in line, in my opinion, should be Marlon Vera. (…) Why don’t we create a small interim belt? Whoever wins will face Aljamain, when he’s ready,” said Sean, on his channel YouTube.
