Shane Burgos is injured and Marlon Moraes is left without an opponent for his PFL debut

The confrontation between Marlon moraes e Shane burgos, which would take place in the last event of the current PFL season, on November 25th, has been canceled after an injury prevented the North American from competing. The information was initially released by Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani.

The duel would mark the debut of both athletes in the new organization. According to information from the North American website “MMA Mania”, the PFL is looking for a new opponent for the Brazilian.

Marlon moraes surprised by signing a contract with the PFL months after leaving the UFC to announce his retirement from professional MMA. Former WSOF champion, the event that gave rise to the PFL, the Friborg native comes from four consecutive defeats in the Ultimate Octagon, all of them by knockout.

Shane burgos is another who surprised by leaving Ultimate and signing with the PFL. At 31 years old, “Hurricane” had two consecutive victories in the octagon, the last of which over Charles Jourdain, in July.

The PFL closes the 2022 season on November 25th, at the Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden, in New York, United States. The event features the finals and crowns the champions of the lightweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight tournaments, with a prize pool of US$1 million (approximately R$5,1 million) for every winner.
