Brock Lesnar, one of the most controversial figures in recent MMA history, could return to the UFC in the near future. This is what the organization's president, Dana White, said, who, in a press conference last Wednesday (15), revealed that he is holding talks with the former heavyweight champion about resuming the old partnership.
Lesnar, currently 36 years old, was a UFC athlete between 2008 and 2011 after a long career in the telecatch. Even discredited, he surprised by winning the heavyweight title of the most important MMA organization in the world, defeating names like Heath Herring, Randy Couture, Frank mir e Shane carwin.
However, his career in MMA was hampered by diverticulitis, a disease that affects the large intestine. After suffering devastating defeats against Cain Velazquez e alistair overeem, Lesnar hung up his MMA gloves and returned to pro-wrestling.
Even though it has been more than two years since his last performance in the UFC, Lesnar has seen his name being linked to a possible return to mixed martial arts. Dana White stated that the heavyweight still believes he has fuel to burn in the UFC. “Brock and I have conversations. He said he has some regrets about MMA because he wasn't healthy. He was going through health problems the entire time he was here [at UFC], so he has some regrets,” said the UFC boss.
"It's interesting. He became a champion with diverticulitis. What would he have done if he hadn't been sick? From his first to his last fight in the UFC he was sick. He never felt good. He felt like he was fighting with 40% of his capabilities. He thinks a Brock Lesnar 100% could have done so much more. I told him he was crazy, since he made it to the UFC and still became champion. So he has some regrets. Would he like to fight again? I'm sure yes. Let's see how things develop. It’s definitely a possibility”, concluded the director.
