Georges St Pierre is enjoying life like never before since announcing his retirement from the UFC. However, the Canadian, former welterweight champion of the organization, highlighted that, despite not regretting his decision, he still considers the possibility of returning to fights.

“I spent Christmas and New Year with my family, which was something I hadn't done in a long time. It was the first time I had nothing on my schedule. It was perfect, fun. Now, let's see what will happen in 2014. I have projects in mind, but I can't talk yet,” commented St. Pierre, according to the Canadian newspaper Ottawa Sun. “I'm an obsessive guy. When I set myself a goal, it means that I will work until I achieve it. But there is a chance that I will return.”

“I'm perfectly fit. The issue is only mental. I don't have that much fun doing it and I wanted to have fun. When I started practicing martial arts, it was because I loved it. It's my passion. But it started to become my job and the pressure increased. And then there’s all the pressure, the criticism, the political part, and many things that people aren’t aware of”, continued the Canadian.

Even though he announced his temporary departure from the UFC, St. Pierre is still dealing with the controversy caused by his last fight. He hit John hendricks by unanimous decision of the judges, something that was widely contested by the public.

Despite the controversy, St. Pierre insists he saw himself as the winner. “I believe I won the first, third and fifth rounds. It was a tough fight. In terms of scoring, it was perhaps the toughest fight I've ever had. In terms of damage, it wasn't the toughest fight. But it was balanced. I know that some people pointed out the fight for the other side and others for mine. I respect everyone's opinion, but I wouldn't accept the belt and the title if I didn't believe I won the fight,” he said.
