After going through a real whirlwind during TUF 17 and preparing for her last fight, against her rival Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey seems to seek a calmer climate for his next challenge, against Sara McMann. During a meeting with the press to promote UFC 170, Rousey said she had absolutely nothing negative to say about her opponent and revealed that she was excited for the confrontation.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have an athlete of Sara’s level to test me against. This raises the level of the fight for everyone. I don't have a bad thing to say about her. I've followed Sara's career since the beginning. We started around the same time, and I always thought this would be the perfect fight to do in a big vehicle. This is the perfect time to bring it all together,” said the champion, according to the “Yahoo Sports” website.

Another point raised by the muse was the fact that McMann and she have an Olympic pass. Sara won silver in Olympic wrestling in 2004, while Ronda won a Bronze medal in judo in 2008. For Rousey, this could be a great attraction for marketing the duel. “It’s hard to sell the same thing all the time. I think the dynamics of this fight are so different that it makes it easier for people to get interested quicker. I treat each fight differently. I feel like this is the perfect fight at the perfect time,” she concluded.

Less than two months after his last title defense, Ronda Rousey returns to the octagon on February 22nd to put the women's bantamweight title at stake once again. On the date, Ronda faces Sara McMann in the main fight of UFC 170. The co-main event of the night, the heavyweight GP champion from the now defunct Strikeforce Daniel Cormier debut in the light heavyweight division against the former title holder in the category Rashad evans.
