The Ultimate organization promoted a major change in the most recent update to its official ranking: there are now 15, not ten, athletes listed per category. Still, the biggest news in the listing was something else: Anderson Silva, again defeated by Chris Weidman, fell to seventh place in the weight-for-weight rankings.
Anderson was surpassed by Cain Velazquez, Demetrious Johnson, Chris Weidman e Renan Barao, which are, respectively, from third to sixth position. The leadership of the ranking continues with the North American Jon Jones, followed by the featherweight champion José Aldo. With the opening of five more vacancies, the Brazilian Vitor belfort it also appears among the best in the organization regardless of the category. The “Phenomenon” appears in twelfth place.
Among the middleweights, nothing new. All positions remained unchanged, with Anderson Silva still in first place, behind only champion Weidman.
