Even with doubts about the future of Anderson Silva, the main Brazilian name in MMA and considered by many to be the greatest pound-for-pound athlete in the history of the sport, the UFC is preparing an ambitious calendar for Brazil in 2014, with visits to new cities along its route and events on new days of the week. The information was published by the newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo”.

According to Folha, in addition to the already confirmed event in Jaraguá do Sul (SC) on February 15th, the UFC debuts on Sundays with an event on March 23rd, possibly in the city of Uberlândia (MG). The other five fight nights take place on the following days: May 31st (with the decision of TUF Brasil 3, with no defined location yet), September 13th (also with an undefined location), October 25th (numbered event, sold in pay-per-view in the United States, probably in Rio or São Paulo), November 8th and December 20th (also without chosen venues).

PUBLICITY:

The dates clearly show the organization's interest in not comparing its events with the World Cup in Brazilian territory, which takes place in June and June. Despite this, there is still room in the international Ultimate calendar for the country to host more fight nights, as ten dates for tournaments outside the United States remain open. In this case, Canada, Australia and some European and Asian countries compete with Brazil for the remaining events.
