Black belt in jiu-jitsu, Brazilian Diego Brandao hopes that gentle art will be the way to win the duel against Dustin poirier this Saturday (28), at UFC 168. In an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website, Brandão said he considers ground fighting as the way to define the fight.

“I'm going to try some takedowns to get a feel for what he's like on the ground. I think the key to this fight is my advantage in jiu-jitsu. I think Dustin's jiu-jitsu is good, but not as good as mine. I plan on taking him down and getting a submission. I really believe in my jiu-jitsu”, said Diego.

Aware that he is facing the biggest challenge of his career, the Brazilian acknowledged, however, that he is not yet close to a title fight. "I'll wait for it. I have a lot to learn and a lot to show. Poirier almost fought for the belt once, so I know I'm getting close. There are a lot of guys at the front, like Frankie Edgar: Chad Mendes and the Clay guida. I think I have to take it one step at a time. We prove ourselves by winning, by knocking people out. I’m focused on getting the win,” she concluded.

This Saturday (28), Diego Brandao faces the North American Cub swanson in the fight that opens the main card of UFC 168. In the main fight of the night, the Brazilian Anderson Silva has a revenge against his tormentor Chris Weidman for the middleweight belt. In the co-main event, the TUF 18 coaches Ronda Rousey e Miesha Tate face each other for the title of the women's bantamweight division.
