With the end of 2013 approaching, the UFC is beginning to release its famous and controversial season lists. Without considering UFC 168, the event that closes the organization's season on December 28th, Ultimate revealed the top five knockouts of the year. The Brazilians Renan Barao, Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort, the North American Travis Browne and the South Korean Dong Hyum Kim were the ‘awards’.

Despite the good selection of knockouts, the list showed a huge inconsistency. In celebration of the UFC's 20th anniversary, the show listed the 20 greatest knockouts in history. In first place, the front kick of Anderson Silva about Vitor belfort, in 2011, and the cross of Chris Weidman about ‘Spider’, in July this year. However, the North American's strike is not on the list of the five best of 2013.
