After all the controversy caused by the Quebec Athletic Commission, UFC-97 is confirmed for the Canadian city on April 18th. According to the Commission's new rules, the use of elbows, knees, takedowns, pile drivers is no longer permitted, and a count is opened when a fighter receives a knockdown.
But according to a report from the American website MMA Mania, an agreement between Ultimate and the Commission authorized the holding of the event, which has already sold 22 thousand tickets, and will feature as its main fight a duel between Brazilians for the show's middleweight belt between the current champion Anderson Silva and the challenger Thales leites, in addition to the duel between Mauricio Shogun and Chuck Liddell.
