After that defeat (for Lupita Godinez) I went home and it was a very difficult time for me because I had been suffering from depression. After the defeat she said to myself: 'That's it, it's over'. The reason I'm here today is because my team and family always believed in me, believed that I would improve and come back. That's why I'm here today. I think it's amazing that I can share this here today. If I improved, so can you. It doesn't matter if I'm a UFC fighter or not. Everyone can suffer from this,” said Loma.
The Asian fighter celebrated her recovery and took the opportunity to send a message to people who are or have already been through this situation.
“I would like to tell people who are suffering from depression and other mental illnesses that I am one of you too. I know what it's like, I know how difficult it is. I've had suicidal thoughts, I've hurt myself, I know how deep and dark it can get. I'm lucky to have an incredible team and family who love me and have always seen value in me. I want to tell people with mental illnesses to see value in themselves and to never give up, understanding that things may not get better right away, but they will get better eventually,” concluded the Thai.
Loma arrived at Ultimate in 2019 and, since then, has recorded four wins and two losses in the largest MMA organization in the world. The Thai fighter has a record in the sport of seven triumphs and three setbacks.
