Fighters pay tribute to José Aldo after retirement: 'legend' and 'greatest of all time'

The world of MMA was taken by surprise, this Saturday (18), with the retirement of José Aldo. However, even with the Brazilian's decision being very discreet, several fighters and members of the international press paid tribute to the 'People's Champion'.

Through social media, names like Henry Cejudo, Gilbert Durinho, Dan Hardy and Megan Olive praised not only the fighter, but Aldo as a person. In many messages, the People's Champion is called the 'Best of all time'.

Henry Cejudo

Former flyweight and bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo he used Twitter to remember the fight that was announced against Aldo, but ended up being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Triple C even called the Brazilian 'one of the greatest featherweights in the history of MMA'.

Gilbert Durinho

Yes, Gilbert Durinho paid tribute to his compatriot with several crowns in a Twitter post, referencing Aldo's 'King of Rio' nickname.
