Shooto Brasil, one of the main MMA events in the country, surprised by announcing, this Tuesday (17th), the holding of a mixed fight for the 45th event, which will be on December 20th, in Rio de Janeiro .
Juliana Velasquez, from Team Nogueira, will face Emerson Falcão, from Nova União. The fight will be between beginners in mixed martial arts, as Falcão has only one fight (and one loss) on his record, while Juliana will make her debut in professional MMA . The fight will be in the bantamweight category, so both fighters must reach the limit of 61 kg at weigh-in.
In an interview with the website Combate.com, André Pederneiras, leader of Nova União and organizer of Shooto, indicated that the fight will have special rules and will not represent a situation of inequality. “We cannot yet reveal what the rules will be, but we guarantee that everything will be done legally and safely. On Friday (event day), everyone will understand the rules,” he explained.
Shooto 45 will be broadcast live on the subscription channel Combate, starting at 20pm (Brasília time).
