Thiago Marreta advises fans to adjust their expectations for the fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Poatan; understand

Brazilian praises UFC 281 protagonists, but suggests that confrontation can be marked by technique and not aggression

Former challenger for the UFC light heavyweight (up to 93kg) belt, Thiago Marreta will be another Brazilian with an eye on the long-awaited clash between Israel adesanya e Alex Poatán, for the middleweight throne (up to 83,9kg.). The fighter, however, showed caution regarding expectations for the clash. Despite praising the protagonists of the UFC 281, the Tupiniquim explained why he thinks some fans may be frustrated with the confrontation.

“A lot of people are expecting a knockout. In my opinion, it has everything to be a very technical fight. The two have already faced each other, they know each other and are very technical. Don't expect a bar fight. They can prepare for five rounds and the fight will be decided in detail”, said Thiago, in an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS.

Despite betting on a match played in 25 minutes, Marreta adds that the analysis is not a criticism of the organization's highlights. Some MMA enthusiasts, however, may not be excited about a fight ending in a way that isn't the fast track.

“The lay public wants to see the knockout, the submission, blood. It's normal. It's entertainment. It doesn't matter, a striker, in jiu-jitsu, a guy who does grappling or wrestling all the time, but doesn't submit, will also find it boring. Sometimes they are technical positions. For those who understand, these are technical fights, but I also understand the public’s side”, he concluded.
