Pointed out, by many, as one of the biggest promises of the featherweights (up to 65,7kg.), Zabit Magomedsharipov surprised the MMA world by announcing his early retirement. Now, around two months after revealing his decision to retire from the sport, the Russian has given more information about his motivations for ending his career.
In your 'Instagram' official, Zabit stated that he was disappointed with the UFC, which would have offered him a title shot and, later, he backed down. The Russian says he is uninjured, but rules out a return for a new appearance in the Octagon.

“I have recovered now, but I don’t feel like I used to. The main reason was that I couldn't fight. (The UFC) didn't give me a title shot. They promised one thing and did another. They promised me and didn't keep their promise. That was the main reason I got angry,” Magomedsharipov said.
The Russian was absent from the ring due to a series of injuries and a complicated health problem. His last fight was in November 2019, when he defeated Calvin kattar in the unanimous decision of the judges. The fighter was booked against Yair Rodriguez, but the fight fell through after an injury to his opponent.
He ended his career at the age of 31, with a record of 18 victories – highlights include triumphs against Jeremy Stephens, Kyle Bochniak and Sheymon Moraes – and just one defeat in his career in mixed martial arts.
