Demian Maia waits for a career in the UFC

In an interview with PVT, the black belt Demian Maia says he expects a tough one on his return to the octagon, after submitting American Ryan Jensen with a rear-naked choke in his debut at UFC-77.

“Anything goes for me now is a path of no return”, he explained, “I must return at UFC 83, in March, in England. I believe they will give me some quarry. In my category there are a lot of tough guys. I really like watching Anderson fight, he's impressive, he's very skilled on his feet. O Thales leites is a very tough guy, just like Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Jason MacDonald, the Yushin Okami, are many".

When talking about his debut, the current ADCC champion gets emotional. “It was awesome”, he celebrated, “It was always my dream to fight in Ultimate. Thank God everything went well, the fight was even shown on TV, even though it was on the undercard. I fought a good guy, without hurting myself or him, which is what I always look for. I think everyone was happy and now we will wait for the next one, as I have three more fights under my contract and I hope to repeat the same performance as I did on my debut.”
