Last Monday (8), referee Luis Garavaglia had a 'hero's day' in the 15th edition of the United Fighting Series, an amateur event that took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With just over a minute of the fight between Brayan Montero, opponent Matias Paganini was surprised by a brutal sequence from his opponent and ended up being knocked out on his feet.

After noticing the knockout, Garavaglia promptly held Paganini and, cautiously, placed the fighter on the ground. The referee then acted quickly to provide first aid and call the doctors working at the scene. He prevented the athlete from having any problems by hitting the cage hard and the images went viral on social media.

Montero, with the result, achieved his first victory in amateur MMA and debuted on the right foot. On the other hand, Paganini suffered his first knockout and now has a balanced record with one triumph and another setback.

The event, which featured 29 fights, was transmitted by United Fighting Series on its official 'YouTube'. In the most important fight of the night, Matias Ponce defeated Christian Dipp.
