Thiago Marreta and Vicente Luque plummet in rankings after defeats at UFC Las Vegas 59

August started badly for Brazilians in the UFC. At the UFC Las Vegas 59, the first event of the month, held last Saturday (6), Mayra Sheetara she was the only one of the four Brazilians selected to emerge victorious. Members of the two main fights of the night, Thiago Marreta e Vincent Luque they were knocked out and ended up “falling” down the rankings of their respective weight divisions.

Former challenger for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg), Thiago Marreta was knocked out by Jamahal hill in the fourth round of the night's main fight and suffered his fifth defeat in his last six fights. With the result, the Brazilian fell from sixth to ninth place in the ranking. Fueled by three consecutive victories, Hill gained four positions and took sixth place.

In the welterweight division (up to 77 kg), Vincent Luque suffered his second consecutive defeat when he was knocked out by Geoff neal in the co-main event of the event. Like Marreta, Luque lost three positions, falling from sixth to ninth place. Neal, who won his second in a row, moved up five spaces, moving from thirteenth to eighth place.

Knocked out by Sergey Spivak, Augusto Sakai lost his place in the heavyweight rankings (up to 120,2 kg). The Brazilian occupied fourteenth position, but left the top 15 in the update carried out this Tuesday (9). Executioner of Sakai, Spivac debuted in the ranking in twelfth position.
