Former UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Anthony Pettis is impressed with the current moment of Charles of the Bronx. O 'showtime’, who has already beaten him in the past, declared that he finds the Brazilian’s turnaround incredible, as he found himself and achieved a series of 11 consecutive victories in the organization.

“I knew he was good. His striking was much better than I expected, and his jiu-jitsu is one of the best the UFC has ever seen. Seeing what he's doing now is incredible. He's found his groove and is probably even surprised that he's gotten to this point. MMA is different, it's not like boxing where you lose a fight and you're out. It takes some time to put things together and then you need confidence to put them together. Seeing what he’s doing now is incredible,” said Pettis, in an interview with the website ‘BJPenn.com'.

Pettis and Do Bronx faced each other in August 2016 and, on that occasion, ‘Showtime’ ended up winning with a guillotine choke in the third round. Since then, the Brazilian has achieved a turnaround in his career and has already surpassed names like Tony Ferguson, Michael chandler, Dustin poirier e Justin gaethje. And, in Anthony's opinion, he is 'cleaning up' the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) and is approaching the position of 'GOAT’ category.

“It's difficult to say that (Khabib) is the GOAT (–Great of All Times, best of all time, in free translation) with everything that (Charles of the Bronx) Oliveira is doing it now, with the names he is hitting. Jon Jones eliminated the (light heavyweight) division and Oliveira has a chance to do that if he beats Islam. Next in line is Beneil (Dariush). And Gamrot is new. So, Oliveira will clean up the division”, concluded the fighter.
