Two unconfirmed injuries, both announced this Tuesday (12), affected the UFC on FOX 9 card. Kelvin Gastelum and Jamie Varner were injured and are out of the event, which takes place on December 14th. Gastelum would face Court mcgee on the main card of the fight night while Varner would face Pat Healy in the fourth fight of the tournament. Now, Healy and McGee await the announcement of their new opponents or, as a last resort, the suspension of their participation in the event.

Injuries have been a constant problem since the announcement of UFC on FOX 9. Flyweight Ian McCall had already been cut and replaced by John Dodson. The main fight of the night would be between Anthony Pettis and TJ Grant, however Josh thomson entered the Canadian's place. A few days ago, it was Pettis' turn to announce that he would not fight due to a knee injury. As a result, the fight for the lightweight belt was suspended and the solution found by the organization was to bring the fight for the flyweight title between Joseph Benavidez e Demetrious Johnson to head the card.
