Absolute in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg.), Alexander Volkanovsky revealed a demand made to Max Holloway after passing through the Hawaiian for the third time within the organization. After nullifying the former champion in the UFC 276, the Australian admitted an 'ultimatum' to the former category leader, still in the Octagon. According to the champion, the speech was in a respectful tone.

“I said directly to him, right after I had my hand raised, 'Would you please get the hell out of my division? Stop defeating my next challengers,” said Volkanovski

At the top of the featherweight division since 2019, the Australian does not hide his admiration for Holloway, who assumed the throne in 2017 and defended it until the setback to Alexander himself. The provocation came due to Max's good performances, when it is not about fights that could qualify him for a title fight.

“Pay attention, I’m going to go there and defeat him. Then he goes and defeats the other guys. We both cleared the category. This is how I feel. Now, people need some wins. This puts us in a strange position. I don't want this fight (against Holloway) to keep happening. I want to face the other guys,” he concluded.
